In 1997 and 2004, Geo/Environmental Associates, Inc. (GA) was peer reviewed by representatives
of ASFE: Professional Firms Practicing in the Geosciences. The purpose of the peer reviews
is to provide us with
feedback from our clients, staff, and peers on our organizational structure, business practices, and loss prevention
procedures. As part of the peer reviews, we requested input from our clients on the quality and responsiveness of
our services. Figures 1 through 4 present a summary of the responses from 22 anonymous client questionnaires.
As a client-driven firm, we concentrate our efforts on client service, technical excellence of the firm, professional development of the staff, and creating an atmosphere where people enjoy their jobs (i.e. fun). We do not subscribe to the philosophy of business-driven firms which is to concentrate on growth and financial matters such as revenue, profit, days-sales-outstanding, marketing, strategic planning, and break-even multipliers at the expense of everything else. We recognize that our philosophy is not in complete alignment with conventional business wisdom. The peer review provided us with an outside opinion on the effectiveness of our overall approach.
The ASFE peer reviewers reported that :
"Overall we are very impressed with the firm's success, and its condition. Client satisfaction, technical quality, loss prevention, professionalism, and financial performance are all excellent. This is especially remarkable considering that the firm has only been in business for about two years. The facilities are very good, employee morale is high, and the prospects for the near future look very good."
