Wilbur Smith and Associates introduced us to the world of transportation engineering. We got to participate in all aspects of developing a new road from surveying and design through construction. Bob Bowers, Norman Johnson, David Taylor, and Jeff Mize from Wilbur Smith also explained other facets of transportation engineering including environmental assessment, wetland delineation, effective communication, and public involvement with their projects. They provided a bus for us to tour several of their projects.
