Mr. Thacker has over 31 years of experience on multi-disciplined geotechnical and environmental projects including waste disposal facilities, environmental remediation projects, groundwater modeling studies, earth and rock-fill dams, landslide repairs, foundation studies, and tied-back retaining structures.  He is also founder and President of the non-profit Coal Creek Watershed Foundation, Inc. working to improve the quality of life in the Coal Creek watershed of Anderson County, Tennessee (www.coalcreekaml.com).  Mr. Thacker was named the 61st Hoover Medalist in 2003 by the prestigious Hoover Medal Board of Award in New York.  Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen bestowed the Governor's Outstanding Tennessean Award on Mr. Thacker for his work in the Coal Creek Watershed and for winning the Hoover Medal.

Thacker received the 2009 ASFE/ASCE Professional Practice Ethics and Leadership Award.
