WHO: High school students from Anderson and Knox Counties (young men and women) who are interested in learning about engineering as a potential career or who just want to learn how to design and build stuff.
WHAT: Area professional engineers and the Boy Scouts of America sponsor the Explorers Post and we are looking for new members.
WHEN: We will meet once a month. Our organizational meeting will be held at 3502 Overlook Circle in Knoxville (map) on Saturday, October 20, 2001 from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm.
WHERE: We will meet in a design office or at a construction site where engineers work. We will also meet periodically to work on community service projects where engineering skills will be put to use.
WHY: Engineers are designers and builders of the quality of life. Participation in the Engineering Explorers Post will allow you to learn what it means to be an engineer. This information will help you make an informed decision on engineering as a potential career to pursue in college.
